These are said to be the first pug puppies to be bred in Gisborne for about 30 years. They are the children of Annesley Honeycomb, whose kennel is at 26 Lyndhurst Street. The breed is becoming very popular, and recently a Pug Club was formed in Auckland.

Photographed at John o' Groats are Craig Stirling (Wellington) and Nordley Olsen (Tolaga Bay). They will be working in London for a couple of years on the building of New Zealand House. Employed by Cubitt Wells in Wellington, they were selected by a panel of examiners to work on the London building. Nordley is the son of Mr and Mrs Norman Olsen, Te Miri Miri, Tolaga Bay.
