The Ruakapanga Meeting House where some members of visiting rugby, hockey and basketball teams are to be billeted in 1961, during the three-day celebrations of the Hauiti Rugby Football Club's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Four members of the Te Aute College Moascar Cup team of 1920, photographed while guests at Aberdeen Home, which still stands on the corner of Aberdeen Road and Derby Street. The team played and defeated the Gisborne High School First XV at Childers Road Reserve in 1920. At rear is Pine Taiapa, of Tiki-Tiki, captain, E.C. and H.B. rep. and Maori All Black. Others are W. Chambers, Tokomaru Bay, W. Sparks, Wellington, and H. K. Tamihana, Hauiti.

Good progress is being made with the new classrooms for the Tolaga Bay District High School. This picture was taken last month.

Some of the players pictured below will no doubt turn out to take part in the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Hauiti Rugby Football Club next year. This 1927 team won the Thornton Cup, senior competition, Duff and Cooper Cups, and was the first senior team to play for the Whakarua Cup. Standing is the late J. Noanoa (supporter), and behind him (obscured) is J. McLean. Then come V. Kutia (killed overseas in World War II), G. Thatcher, T. Reihana, P. Kutia, the late R. Smith, J. Callaghan (manager and coach), K. Taylor, W. Thompson and R. Kutia (all supporters). Centre row: J. Horua, the late J. Ruru, J. Grace, the late T. Waru, and N. Whitehead. In front are M. Glover, N. Kirikiri, Wi Pere Amaru, W. E. Maude and H. Tamanui. The picture was taken by H. K. Tamihana.

This Hauiti Club Hockey Team of about 1937 included eight members who were sisters: Raukura, Miria and Lulu Noanoa; Mere, Whetu and Hana Paea; and Daphne and Elsie Hale.
