Fancy Dress Frolics

You've got to hand it to those folks up Elgin way. When they decide to put on a show, nothing is too much trouble. The other night, when members of the Elgin School Parent-Teacher Association held their annual get-together with the Awapuni P.T.A. as their guests, they turned on a rattling good show, the highlight of which was a turn called "The Waxworks".

When the curtain was drawn, there were all these people standing stock-still, just like they were really fresh out of Madame Tussaud's: Hillary and Tensing, Margot Fontaine, Marilyn Monroe and the rest. When Gracie Fields started up at the piano, Don Clarke came to life and kicked a goal, and the fun was on.
