Hauiti Rugby Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 1961. This is the junior team of 1921. From left: R. (Sonny) Kutia, who later played for East Coast and Tairawhiti; V. Kutia, who was killed overseas in World War II; Julian Thompson, who played for Te Aute College 1st XV 1927-28, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty and Tai Tokerau in 1928, and E. C. in 1932. also served overseas with Maori Battalion; J. Temple, a Tolaga Bay, Opotiki and B.O.P. rep.; H. Tamanui (Maori Battalion); R. Tamanui (Whatatutu rep), and W. Thompson (also Maori Battalion).
