Gisborne From the Air
This is how Gisborne looked one fine morning last week, as a "Photo News" cameraman trained his lens on the business heart of the city, with the junction of the Waimata and Taruheru rivers in the centre of the picture, and the bay beyond.
At left is Kaiti Hill and the Harbour. Other points of recent interest include the new Morris Convalescent Home (about an inch below the William Petty bridge in the picture), the new Government Buildings (in centre of the right-hand page), and the partly-constructed Common Shelton building nearby (over the Peel Street bridge). The long street running diagonally across the picture is Harris Street.
