A new type of fire extinguisher being demonstrated in the Fire Station yard at Gisborne. A gun type, it fired cartridges of a powder at the fire, extinguished it in a few moments.

Mr R. C. A. Tombleson with the champion blooms at the recent spring flower show. John Tombleson took the champion bloom of the show award, and most of the other championship awards went to Mr Tombleson.
