Show of Shows

Junior members of the National Party, assisted by local artists, presented their "Show of Shows" entertainment in the Opera House recently in aid of funds for the Heni Materoa Home and the Crippled Children's Society.

The show, directed by Esme Tombleson, was a bright and breezy revue which pleased with its variety and talent.

World Champion Archer Jim Burton started his act with a big bang.

To vocal accompaniment from The Satins, Regency Blair and Merilyn Roots dance the "Varsity Drag".

One of the most original items was entitled Les Girls, with Bill Hodgson and Christine King singing sentimental ballads, and the dancers in such popular old-timers as the Varsity Drag and Charleston. These contrasted to modern numbers by The Satins, sung to featured Rock'n'Roll dancing.
