Te Hapara School Gala

A parade of children in fancy dress was a feature of the gala at Te Hapara School last month. Kiddies of all ages in a variety of picturesque costumes took part.

This year the various stalls at the gala were spread out round the sports field, which provided a most attractive setting.

Two teachers who were leaving the school after long service were farewelled at the gala. Mr G. R. Vigis, retiring after 40 years in the profession, mainly in Gisborne, was presented with travelling bags for the trip to England he and Mrs Vigis will take next year. He is seen speaking above. Below is Miss N. Hill, who is transferring to Central School after 18 years at Te Hapara.
