What will Gisborne be like in another 80 or 85 years? Such a long span in a growing young country like New Zealand could change a city like Gisborne beyond all recognition. After all, look at the change between the Kaiti of about 1875 (above) and the Kaiti of today (below). Apart from the shape of the hills, and the mud in the Taruheru, almost everything is different. Perhaps by 2040, even the mud might be fixed.
