Surf Girls Open Season

Girls of the Gisborne Ladies' Surf Life-Saving Club are in for a busy season, along with their contemporaries in the men's clubs, for early in the new year the New Zealand championships are to be held here.

The opening of the girls' season, after the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker, had officiated at his first function after being re-elected to office. In the front row, with Mr and Mrs Barker, are Beverley Timms, Jean Stewart, Dianne Haache, Raewyn Walton, Vivien Grummitt, Beverley Odams, Barbara Mountford, At rear are Shirley Jones, Margaret Lyndon, Leslie Pickett, Sonia Bloomfield, Rosemary Gibson, Marcia James, Pat Mountford.
