Officers and guides of the Aranga Guide Company wore a different kind of uniform on the night of Oct.31, when they held a highly successful Hallowe'en party.
A presentation to mark his completion of 21 years of service as treasurer of the Gisborne - East Coast Bowling Centre was made recently to Mr F. Williams at a function prior to play commencing on the Gisborne Bowling Club's greens.
In the absence of the president of the centre, Mr W. Phillips, through illness, the presentation of a small silver memento to mark the occasion was made by the vice-president, Mr G. Brodie. Left to right in the group are F. Somerton, E. H. Halstead, H. E. Powell, H. Wilcox (president Gisborne Club), Mr Williams, E. Esquilant, and Mr Brodie.
Graceful Scottish dancing was a feature of the Civic Services Review. Those performing were members of the Gisborne Caledonian Society.
