The New "Endeavour"
The Gisborne Yacht Club's new pick-up launch, named "Endeavour", arrived in Gisborne in time for the recent Boat Show. The yacht will be a most valuable and useful addition to the club's facilities, enabling officials to quickly reach and give aid to any yacht which gets into trouble in the bay. Built by P. Vos Ltd., Auckland, it is a handsome and seaworthy craft, 20ft in length, with a beam of 7ft and a draught of 1ft 10in. The club is now awaiting the arrival of the special engine for the launch. It was originally hoped that this would be available in time for the club's opening at Labour weekend, but latest reports indicate that the engine will not be here until sometime after that.
