Unusual Machine

Something new in machines was demonstrated in Gisborne recently at the yards of Messrs Pittar and Barker. It was a novel machine for taking the bark off posts.

Designed by Mr R. W. Searle, Christchurch, who is seen in one of the pictures, the machine, by means of revolving cutters, will quickly pare off the bark from any log. It adjusts itself automatically to the contours of the log.
