Soccer Success
Our sister publication, "New Plymouth Photo News", has had the edge on us for a couple of years, while the Ranfurly Shield resided in Taranaki. But now it is Gisborne's turn to hold the top provincial trophy won on the soccer field--the English Football Association Trophy, which in soccer is equivalent to the Ranfurly Shield in Rugby. And a handsome piece of work it is, too.
The coveted trophy was won by the P.B. representative side when they beat Auckland recently by three goals to one.
