At the 50th anniversary of the Grand Hotel, Palmerston North, a number of Gisborneites joined the hosts, Mr and Mrs. E. McParland for a picture. From left to right they are: Fred Coker, Mrs P. Reardon, Mr and Mrs E. J. McParland, Cleve Allen, Pat Reardon, Mrs F. Coker and "Scotty" Prentice.
Margaret Glen and Pari Te Ua, who were selected to join a Maori Concert Party shortly to embark on a three months' tour of Australia.
Miss K. Beale, Te Puia, with a 2891b striped Marlin which she caught off Cape Brett, Bay of Islands. With Miss Beale is Ritchie Bloomfield, owner of the launch, "Aquarius", off which Miss Beale earlier caught a 3601b striped Marlin.
