Some like to spend their free time the easy way; not so four members of Gisborne's A.N.Z. Bank staff.

Graham Evans, Dennis Purcell, David Richards and Neville Hardy took on the arduous task of negotiating the Waioeka River by rubber dinghy. Here and there they found a calm patch, but for most of the journey it was a matter of bouncing over pressure waves up to six feet high.
