Two old mates, connected with early railway days in Gisborne met recently. They ape Mr A. Hall (left), of Ormond Road, who fired the first train to leave Gisborne in 1900, and Mr Ledger, who was associated with the first line surveys here.

Also in 1903 was this view of the Lysnar home, Kelvin Rise, seen across the Taruheru River. Kelvin Rise is now the home of the Gisborne Museum and Art Gallery.
