Feline Aristocrats on Show

Towards the end of last month the Gisborne Cat Club held the first championship cat show to be held here. The show drew entries from far and wide, including some of the country's best and most handsome aristocrats, mostly bred from imported stock.

For lesser luminaries in the feline world there were non-championship classes, which drew a large entry of local cats.

The show was held under the rules of the New Zealand Governing Circle of the Cat Fancy. Top cats carried pedigrees as complicated as those of champion racehorses.
