Roving Camera

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of scouting, a tree was planted in Kelvin Park at the recent Scout and Guide gathering.

Associated with the planting (from left to right) were the Mayor, Mr Barker, Ray Rawl-ings, a "lone cub" from Arawhana Station, Mr Glanville, an "old scout", Mrs H. Nicol, formerly a prominent guider in Gisborne, Brownie Barbara Beckett, of Manutuke, Mr and Mrs R. A. Keeling, and Mrs Nugent, district commissioner of Girl Guides.

Married recently at Holy Trinity Church were Joan Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Mr L. E. Sampey, Andrew Street, and Carswell Bruce, the elder son of Mr and Mrs C. A. Levy, of Glen Eden, Auckland. Future home: Auckland.
