To aid the Ross Sea Committee's appeal for funds for the forthcoming New Zealand expedition to the Antarctic, pupils of the Gisborne Boys' High School raised £50 to sponsor this Husky dog, at present named Tutluck.
Mrs N. V. Matson, Wanganui, gained two new Gisborne grandchildren within 30 hours recently. First Ashley (right) was born to one of her daughters, Mrs Keith White; then Mrs Laurie Ashwell presented her with grand-daughter Marie.

Aerial pictures of Waipaoa River revealed remains of old bridge which Catchment Board officials identified as belonging to Ngatapa railway of many years ago. It is located a short distance above the new road bridge.
