An authority on livestock production, Mr Reeves has already held two national posts — chairmanship of the electoral college of the N. Z. Meat Producers Board, and of Federated Farmers' meat & wool section.

For three years he was vice-president of Federated Farmers.

Mr S. D. Reeves, of Mokairau Station, who has been elected president of Federated Farmers of N.Z.

Col. C. Hellier Evans, D.S.O., Legion of Honour, who has been unanimously elected a life member of the Gisborne R.S.A. He has been a financial member of the Gisborne branch continuously since its formation, despite a long sojourn in Australia.
He was recently awarded the N.Z.R.S.A. gold-star badge.

Inspector W. R. Murray, of Wainui Road, who has been promoted to the rank of superintendent, and Mrs Murray. Mr Murray has been transferred to Wellington as chief of the Criminal Investigation Dept.
He has served with the Police Force for 34 years, coming to Gisborne as inspector in 1953.

Mr Eric Halstead, Centennial Crescent, who has been elected president for 1956-57 of the Gisborne -East Coast Bowling Centre.
A Kahutia club member, Mr Halstead is also prominent as a Rugby administrator.

Mr Bill Carrington, who was manager this month of the touring P. B. Rugby team. Mr Carrington has played in Fiji and Australia as a Maori All Black. He was a front-row forward for Poverty Bay for many seasons.
