Alive! Alive-O!

As another promotion in this year's national Come Alive programme the local committee, in conjunction with various groups, staged a series of demonstrations and displays on August 10. These attracted much attention, and steady streams of visitors over the day.

David and Judith Newell have come a-live more than most and have taken off for England where David will skipper a new fibreglass Flying Fifteen in a six-race series at Falmouth in Cornwall.

An estimated one thousand people visited the Museum and Art Gallery on "Come Alive Day". It was here that displays in the interim museum at the old Central School in Derby Street were on show while artists and potters were also shown at work.
