Young Derek Stokes is not at all happy about the overtures of this little lamb at Manutuke. "I'm only trying to be friendly", says lamb, "and I've worn my fancy jacket and hat especially for the occasion", — but Derek is not impressed. Derek is the son of Tony and Christine Stokes (who are now living in Wyndham, Western Australia) and also the grandson of Mrs Joyce Stokes, Muriwai. The picture was taken at Mrs Mary Hutchinson's Te Arai Southdown Stud. Of particular interest to farmers is the fact that this lamb is the 19th from an 11-year-old ewe.
