These four girls from the Y.M.C.A. Gymnasium Club gathered their wits, expertise and training skill and attended the Hawkes Bay Gymnastics Association's area championships at Hastings recently. They were the first entrants from the Gisborne area for 20 years! All gained valuable competitive experience with Yvette Wood gaining third place on the uneven bars and Kirsty McCulloch taking a second place, this in the floor section exercise. Between them the girls also gained several other minor placings. The gymnasts are, from left, in front, Christine McHardy and Kirsty McCulloch and, at back, Yvette Wood and Jan Morley.
