Gymnastics Festival

The Y.M.C.A. Stadium was filled with spectators and competitors for the 10th Annual Poverty Bay Schools' Gymnastic Festival on July 31. Over 100 teams participated with people coming from the East Coast, Hawkes Bay and the Bay of Plenty as well as locally. Some very smooth displays were seen in all sections.

The Waingake team of Angela Toon, and Donna, Peter and Michael Gordon took first place in the country schools' section. Michael also won the Merit Award for highest individual points in the same section.
