Winter Planting

Members of the Rose Society spent a pleasant morning recently planting three dozen roses at the entrance to the Cook County Building in Gladstone Road. The roses had to come from Timaru as at this time of the season they were the only ones available in the dormant stage. With past Cook County chairman Dick Parker (second from left) looking on, Rose Society members engaged in the project are, from left, Stan Monck, Eve Monck, Nan Poole, and president Jim Humphreys.
