Brilliant Comeback

A brilliant come-back on the harrier trail was staged by Ian Solomon on July 12. He clinched the senior title in the excellent time of 43-45 which has been bettered only by Olympian Terry Manners. After going over the hill the second time Solomon forged ahead of Allan Parkinson and ran away to a very comfortable win. Having been away from the harrier scene for just over three seasons Ian Solomon's victory was remarkable indeed. Parkinson was still an easy second. Kevin White turned the tables in the last lap and caused something of an upset by beating Wayne File into third place.
