Co-Ordinate Meeting

A co-ordinating meeting of the Waikato regions of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers and the Country Women's Institute was held in Gisborne recently. The region extends from Huntly down to Gisborne and the meeting was held to define a closer relationship, and liaison, between the two groups.

Members of both organisations filled the Presbyterian Church hall for the meeting.

Conducting the meeting were, from left, Mesdames Barbara Wood and Eve Hodder (chairman and secretary respectively of the Waikato W.D.F.F.), and Joan McLean and Nell Allan (chairman and secretary respectively of the Poverty Bay C.W.I.).

Several handcraft competitions were held in conjunction with the meeting. From left, Mesdames Virginia Savage (1st national costume doll), Isobel Smith (2nd doll), and Edith Bailey (3rd doll, 2nd skirt, and 1st jersey).

Graham Foster's pomeranian "Astra Jody" is still adding to its string of awards. At a recent P.B. Kennel Association Ribbon Parade Jody took Best on Parade, and Best of Group, this being the fifth time the rising four-year-old has taken that title.
