Regional Meeting

The annual general meeting and conference of the Tairawhiti Region of the Maori Women's Welfare League was held in Gisborne on July 5. A very good number of delegates filled the lounge of the Anglican Parish Hall in Derby Street where the meeting was held.

Members expressed confidence in the regional executive by returning them unopposed for a further term and that executive is, from left, Mesdames Maraea Te Kana (regional delegate to the national body), Lorna Ngata (president), Gertrude Pewhairangi (secretary), and Lena Manuel (Wairoa representative).
