Pictures From The Past

Here is another intriguing picture from our file of old glass plates — unfortunately with no relative information. It was obviously taken at the turn of the century when sailor-type dress for both girls and boys was the ultimate in children's fashions. Whether "Dobbin" is really interested or not is problematical!

From Mrs A. S. Callahan, 8 Mary Street, comes this very good photograph of the Great Gisborne Snowfall of 1939. The fall was of sufficient volume to cover the city with one to two inches of snow and this is how Pitt Street looked on that occasion.
