Dedication Of New St. George's
The new church at Patutahi was dedicated on June 8 by the Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt Rev. Paul Reeves. The handsome new building was packed to the doors for the morning service and there was standing room only for the late-comers.
Participating in the service, which included the transfer of the cross, candlesticks and prayerbooks from the old St George's are Bishop Reeves, Gregory Bennett, Rev. B. Oxenbridge (former vicar of Patutahi for many years), Gilbert Williams, and Rev. C. W. Bennett.
