50 Golden Years

The Gisborne High School Old Boys' Rugby Football Club celebrated its Golden Jubilee over Queen's Birthday weekend. More than 200 old boys and present members attended the celebrations which included the enrolment and welcome, a cabaret, and a wine and cheese evening for wives and partners. The highlight, of course, was the Jubilee Dinner held in the Boys High School Assembly Hall, where all the golden days of the past 50 years were recalled. The opener to the celebrations was the game between High School Old Boys and Marist, with each team vying to maintain an unbeaten record for the season. H.S.O.B. were valiant in defeat, the final score being 13-3.
