SWIMMING AWARDS

The Olympic Swimming Club held a very enjoyable end-of-year gathering and prize-giving on June 8. Plenty of games were the order of the afternoon with a terrific spread am and soft drinks being the highlight for the club members.

This sign, painted by sign-writer Bruce O'Connell, 8 Elm Street, is 40 feet long and comes apart in only two sections. It depicts one hundred years of progress by Adairs Ltd who are this year celebrating their centenary. The sign now has pride of place on the firm's building on the corner of Gladstone Road and Grey Street.
