Top Dogs
Outstanding manoeuvres and fine stratagems were much in evidence at the Dog Trials held at the Pouawa Trial Grounds on May 24. The day's events gave the district's dogs and owners an opportunity for final competition work-outs before the North Island and New Zealand Championships at Stratford.
Up to the time of these trials "Bing" was the top centre dog with 24 points. Here, with his owner Prince Rickard, "Bing" is about to compete in the Zig-Zag Huntaway.
"Bing" deftly works the sheep up the tricky hill face.
Cars park easily and afford a comfortable view for spectators at the trials.
