Grand Clan Gathering

Descendants of the late John and Violet (nee Burch) McKinley held a warm and friendly family reunion in Gisborne over Anzac weekend. Eight of the McKinley sons and daughters, with their wives and husbands and families, attended a dinner held in the Power Board Rooms, Seventy descendants came to the gathering. John McKinley was, for 50 years, a grocer in a building on the site now occupied by the A.N.Z. Bank in Lower Gladstone Road. From 1902 to 1922 he worked for W.A. O'Meara Ltd, and after that owned the business himself.
