Untimely Passing

The untimely death on August 31 of the country's Prime Minister caused a feeling of much sadness throughout New Zealand. At the comparatively early age of 51, and after a little less than two years in office, Norman Kirk had accomplished much People in all walks of life and all political inclinations can only mourn the passing of a man big in every way. His humanitarian influence was being felt increasingly, both at home and overseas, but particularly in the South Pacific. The whole country extends compassion and condolences to Mrs Ruth Kirk, and her family, in the loss of a loved husband and father. “Haere Ra! Norm.”
