Stalkers' Trophies

A bright annual prize-giving was held by the Gisborne Branch of the N.Z. Deerstalkers' Association. Trophies for the season were presented at a function held in the Scout Hall.

Top shooter of the season is Star Rutene. His trophies included the Ballard Trophy for red deer, the Doug Brown Shield for goat head, and Holden Cup for pig jaw.

The prizes were presented by Geoff Crone of the Mountain Safety Committee. John Cooper (right) takes the Muir Cup for the most symmetrical head.

Wayne Black was third in the Brown Shield.

Ctub president Ray Newman makes a presentation to club members Bill and Joyce Stewart, who are transferring to Te Araroa.
