Open To Fisher
Murray Fisher defeated Doug Neilson, two-up, to win the Poverty Bay open golf championship for 1974. Fisher went into a two-up lead after the first two holes but found himself against a tough opponent who squared the game at the fourth. However, Fisher went on to lead by one-up and two-up variously to take the title.
Fisher was breating down Neilson's neck right from the start of the match.
