Still Unique

Still a point of interest for visitors to Gisbome is the "Bridge House" on the corner of Childers Road and Cobden Street. It must be unique in New Zealand, as where else would you find a house built from the bridge of a ship — in this case the 'Star of Canada,' a freighter which was wrecked at Kaiti Beach in 1912.
