Riverside Closing

A large crowd of lady bowlers attended the closing day's play of the Riverside Bowling Club. After afternoon tea the presentation of trophies was made.

The Mayoress, Mrs H. H. Barker (right), presented the cups. Receiving the cup for the Open Singles is Mrs R. Jennings. At left is runner-up Mrs N. McLeod.

Mrs D. Humphries, a long standing member of the club, was made a life member. She is having her life membership badge pinned on by club president Dee Malone.

Winners of the graded fours were D. Chatfield, M. Walker and N. McLeod. Absent: M. Mitchell.

Open pairs winners were R. Jennings and V. Hume.

Runners-up in the graded fours were J. Sumrnersby, D. Dobbs, D. Malone and R. Jennings. Mesdames Sumrnersby, Malone and Jennings were also winners of the open triples.

The Bob Watt Memorial Rosebowl was presented by Mr Watt's son, Jim, and daughter Margaret (Mrs Croskery). The winners were V. Hume (skip), P. Roe (3) and J. Heta (1). Absent: B. Sheriff. The bowl is for competition between the Riverside and Kaiti Clubs and is presented at each clubhouse on alternate seasons.
