Graduation

Three General and six Community Nurses graduated at the Cook Hospital School of Nursing's August graduation ceremony.

The three General graduates were, from left, Beverley Ashdown, Lesley Dunlop and Margaret Korver.

Fourth year certificates were gained by Carol Elsmore and Wanda Gordon, and Sandra Carmine (absent).

The Community graduates were, from left, Robyn McLeod, Elizabeth Smith, Heather Turner, Karen Dods and Lynn Evans. Absent: Joanne Baty.

Cup prizes were won by Nurse C, Brooks (Miss Bunt Rosebowl for Best Practical Nurse), Male Community Nurse J. K. Hill (Laing Trophy for Care and Understanding of the Aged) and Nurse Y. Lawrence (Hall Cup for general efficiency, 2nd year nurse)

Speakers at the ceremony were Mr P. Sharp (secretary, Cook Hospital Board), Rev. Owen Robinson (guest speaker), Mr R. A. White (board chairman) and Dr W. I. McKean (medical superintendent)

Book prizes were won by, from left, Staff Nurse L. Dunlop (obstetrics and gynaecology), Community Nurse S. Barns-Graham (community nurse highest aggregate), Nurse B. Beattie (3rd year nurse aggregate), Community Nurse J. D. Clark (highest standard throughout first year) and Nurse M. Foote (special prize for constant work in theory and practice)
