Marie Mcewin is Hostess
Marie McEwin was the girl chosen from 17 finalists to represent Poverty Bay as a Victory Hostess at the Tenth British Commonwealth Games, to be held in Christchurch next year. Marie was announced the winner at the very successful Hostess Bail, held to mark the end of the contest, both events being organised by Radio Gisborne
Mr Martin Lynch, chairman of the P.B. Commonwealth Games Fund Committee pins the victory sash on Marie.

Runner-up was Elley Boeyen (Miss Dunstan & Kinge).
