Pick-A-Peck O'Pancakes

Entrants in Gisborne Rotaract's Pancake Eating competition got through more than a goodly number of pancakes in the allotted time of ten minutes for each team. This piece of Friday evening entertainment, staged in the window of Ellis and Bull, attracted and amused a large number of shoppers and spectators.

In charge of the cooking and kept on the go supplying the pancakes was Karen Bruce.

Winners of the competition, with seventeen pancakes consumed, were the Lytton Pirates juniors. From left, Steven Fouhy, Kevin Dunlop and Len Horne.
