The 100th Act
The 100th act of Harvest Thanksgiving was celebrated this autumn by St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, during this, its centenary year. A special display by the Floral Art Society was staged on April 30 and May 1 and this drew hundreds of people to the church to see the beautiful arrangements, and colour, of the flowers.
This tableau depicted Advent, with pink chrysanthemums the predominate flower.
A profusion of fruits and vegetables formed The Horn of Plenty, before the altar.
"Christmas" featured white chrysanthemums.
"Good Friday" was stark simplicity in stones, driftwood and a crown of thorns.
A beautiful arrangement in red, white and pink was a feature of the North Transept.
