Red Cross Gift

Holiday South

The Farmers Trading Company held a very successful Bake-A-Cake competition, recently. The first prize was a trip for two to Christ-church and this was won by Mrs Val Hill, Aberdeen Road. The fruit cakes, which all looked too good for words, were donated to Gisborne homes for the Old Folks.

Ninetieth Birthday

A presentation of $50 was made by the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne Trustee Bank to the Red Cross Society, recently. Receiving the cheque from the bank s representative, Mr Graeme Wallis, is the Red Cross president, Miss Greita Clifford-Jones, while at back are members of various Red Cross committees.

Miss Amy Cook, Karamu Street, celebrated her 90th birthday recently, and she was accorded birthday honours in the country, at the home of Mrs Sally Patterson, Makaraka. Old friends gathered to wish Miss Cook felicitations and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.
