Rallying Forth

More than 60 vintage cars from all parts of the North Island took part in the Labour Weekend Rally. Talking shop was the order of the weekend, with the run to Tolaga Bay being the highlight of the holiday.

This monstrous 1929, 6.5 litre Bentley, from Hastings, a family car, attracted a lot of attention. At the wheel is Sally Rowe with, from left, Lynley Painter (obscured), and Virginia Harris and, at back, Mrs Merle Painter, Stephanie Painter, Hayley Painter, and Mrs Colleen Harris.
