The attendants are David Maringarangi, Richard Mitchell, brother of the bride, Monte Mitchell, brother of the bride, Joe Ratima, Sid Mitchell, jnr, brother of the bride (best man), Rose Mitchell, sister of the bride (chief maid), Linda Mitchell, sister of the bride, Trisha Hindmarsh, Charmaine Karaka, cousin of the bride, Jaylene Barwick, Waipaoa, niece of the groom, and Cherrie Karaka, cousin of the bride. The first Bahai wedding to be conducted in Gisborne was held recently, when Robin McLoughlin married Simon Chance. The ceremony was held in the gardens of 43 Lyndhurst Street. After the marriage, the couple left to travel around the North Island teaching the Bahai Faith.
