City Mall Mooted

The above plan is a SUGGESTED scheme for a traffic free, city centre shopping mall, and it was drawn up by the City of Gisborne District Planning Committee. General support, in principle, was received from the majority of city retailers at a public meeting held recently. Many problems would have to be ironed out before any degree of certaintly could be made about the project. However, the above sketch is a start which, if it becomes reality, means that customers would be able to shop in peace – without having to contend with the ever increasing traffic NOISE!
