Fine Lot Of Bulls

Two catalogues of fine bulls were presented for sale, and entered in the competitions, at the Gisborne Stud Beef Cattle Breeders' Association's 37th annual sales. On the first day, 66 Hereford and Polled Herefords were up and, on the second day, 82 Angus bulls were offered. The Meat and Wool cup, and the Straight Furrow Cup, were both won by R. F. Hutchinson & Co's Waihuka Nui, while the Wonder cup for Angus bulls was won by J. C. L. Dowding's Ranui 179th, . of Rangatira. This animal later went under the hammer for $2000 at the sale.

Third placegetter in the Angus competition, Playboy 48th, of Te Ruanui, from the estate of E. Matthews, drew $1050 under the auctioneer's hand.
