The new fishermen's wharf is now ready for use. This will enable fishing vessels to moor next to the J. Wattie Cannery fish factory.
Despite setbacks, the work on the harbour gate project is proceeding reasonably well, with the coffer dam, which will allow dry working conditions for the construction of the gate, almost completed.
